An experienced film and TV Director of Photography/Camera operator working on dramas, factual entertainment, documentaries, and music programs. I have more than 20 years wide-ranging experience filming in over 30 countries and have shot comprehensively throughout the UK.
A self taught film maker from a very young age and four years of industry training in the Camera Department of Samuelson Film Services led me to working my up through the Camera grades of Clapper Loader and Camera Assistant / Focus Puller working alongside some great Cameramen, I have worked on Commercials, Documentaries, Corporates, Features and Dramas, such as: Poirot, London’s Burning, Minder, Orchestra, Waking the Dead, Spooks, Hustle, The Fixer, Postcode and features such as Paper House and Ken Russell’s Gothic.
I have worked on many highly acclaimed and successful productions such as the recent multi award winning commercial at Cannes Choose A Different Ending, the documentary Who Do You Think You Are? (Colin Jackson), the UK Music Hall of Fame series both nominated for BAFTA awards and the filmed and directed documentary for Channel 4 The Stephen Lawrence Story a CRE Race in the Media award winner.
I am proficient in all current camera formats, from the Canon 5D to the Arri Alexa, on film from 35mm to 8mm and have shot on most High Definition systems, tape and tapeless.
I have shot and lit several 3D productions from single 3D camera to side by side and mirror rig productions.
I am a member of BECTU (Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph and Theatre Union and I have worked as a BAFTA judge (cinematography).
I have an American (I) work Visa for the USA. I have a full driving licence, and a British Passport
